Coming into two months of metal detecting now and I have to say it has been quite a ride. I have gone pretty hard into this hobby and put probably close to 200 hours on the sand and dirt. I have been experiencing the ups and downs of detecting. Some days you go out and it feels like your the first person to swing a coil over that piece of ground. There are other days you feel like a team came in and removed everything from the ground down to the minerals. Gold has been unbelievably hard for me to find. I feel like every trip I am missing something, are the signals just not there? Am I hearing it wrong? Am I going to fast? Am I just not going over spots that have it? Don’t get me wrong I’ve found what I consider my fair share of silver, but silver just doesn’t peak my interest like gold does and relics. There’s so much I’ve learnt in such a short time. The club has been great motivator to get out and find something new to the collection. My daughter and I have become quite the team and her keen eyes pick many of the objects out before I even pull the pin pointer out. All in all this hobby has provided a great way to get my steps in and find new places.
